The rules of the lobby
Short version: LagScope is a free connection test, you use it at your own risk, don’t hammer our servers, and your test results are yours. The slightly longer version, in plain language, below. Last updated 2026-07-25.
1. What LagScope is
LagScope is a free, browser-based connection test built for gamers. It probes your connection with game-like UDP traffic, shows you latency, jitter, packet loss, lagspikes and bufferbloat, and can generate timestamped evidence reports. No account, no signup, no install. By using the site you agree to these terms.
2. Measurements come “as is”
Every number LagScope shows is a best-effort measurement taken from inside a browser, provided as is and as available, with no warranty of any kind — express or implied. Browsers, operating systems, Wi-Fi and background apps all influence the result. LagScope is a diagnostic tool, not professional, legal or technical advice, and not a guarantee of any game experience or ISP behavior. What you do with a measurement — including complaints to your ISP — is your call and your responsibility.
3. Fair use of the endpoints
The test talks to our edge nodes. Don’t abuse that:
- No scripted load, stress or denial-of-service attempts against our endpoints — the rate limits exist so everyone’s test stays accurate.
- No bulk scraping of the site, the leaderboard or proof snapshots.
- No reselling or repackaging the test, the API or the results pipeline as your own service.
- No interfering with other users’ measurements.
Running the test yourself, automating your own tests for personal use, and linking to anything public is completely fine.
4. Intellectual property
The LagScope name, logo, site design, share-card designs and the software behind the service are ours. Don’t present them as your own or use the brand to imply endorsement.
5. Your results are yours
Screenshots, share cards, proof links and ISP evidence reports generated from your test are yours to share, post, print and wave at your ISP. A proof link is public to anyone who has it — treat it like any link you share.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LagScope and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages — lost games, lost ranks, lost revenue, ISP disputes or decisions made based on a measurement. The service may be unavailable, interrupted or change at any time without notice.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. The current version always lives on this page with its date above; continued use of LagScope after a change means you accept the updated terms.
